Beyond Barriers began almost 18 years ago in response to the experiences of Blair and Nancy Ferguson. During Blair’s 20 year career as a paramedic and Nancy’s career as a hospital materials manager, they saw first hand many of the unique physical challenges encountered by  individuals with limited mobility in trying to live everyday life. Together, they decided to start a part-time business that would focus specifically on meeting those needs with Blair doing the educating, selling, and installation work and Nancy handling the books and administration.

Originally operating from their home, Beyond Barriers now occupies an 8,500 sq.ft. facility in Wyoming, MN and has brought in 15 talented employees (and growing). Under this roof are their corporate offices, construction division and product showroom. Also located there is their product warehouse - Beyond Barriers is the North American distributor for the unique and innovative AKW line of bath safety and accessibility products. From our headquarters in Wyoming, we train, supply and support our national network of dealers.Beyond Barriers has realized exceptional growth by combining top quality products and construction services with unrivaled project evaluation and design expertise.
